Hidden deep in the sub-basements were the Interrogation Rooms. And hidden deep in the Interrogation Rooms was a man. He was tall and worn, with sunken cheeks and haunted eyes. His prematurely graying hair merged with overgrown whiskers to fall past his shoulders. He was slumped over in the hard metal chair he was bound to, as if asleep. But he hadn't truly slept in the three months since he'd come here. Instead he drifted in and out of consciousness, waiting for them to come again. And they would come. They always came. A sound brought him back to the land of the living. It was impossible to gauge time in this place, but he was pretty sure it was too early for the new day to begin. Wondering what new horror awaited today he looked up wearily. Standing in front of him was a woman, her hands covered in weapons and blood. "James Black?" she demanded. He ran his teeth over his lips in anticipation. He knew who she was and where she came from. "What took you so long?" he questioned, allowing himself a smile that made his face even more horrifying.
The next morning: Agent Michaels walked through the subbasements to the Interrogation Rooms. He was tired, and he was pretty sure that he was wasting time. When they had first captured James Black just over three months ago, it had seemed the answer to all their prayers. Someone that deep in the Shadow Bringer's inner circle would have all the information necesary to bring them down. But now it was three months later and Black still hadn't broken. Michaels knew that he could be used out on the field, persuing live leads. But he was the best interrogator they had, so he was stuck here, day after day. Running his hands through his hair, he turned the corner and stopped in surprise. There was something crouched outside Black's cell. Michaels flipped on the switch to the lone floursecant light bulb. In the harsh glow he could see what it was and stepped back in horror. lying in the middle of the corridor was the 24/7 guard- dead. Michaels ran over the guard and unlocked he door. Inside, the cell was empty. Black was gone. OOC: wow that was longer than i anticipated. sorry.

That morning Marie Therese was in the gym for physical combat training when red lights on the walls and ceiling started going off, covering everything in a crimson glow. A siren blared over the intercom and a voice informed all agents to return to their barracks immediately, proceeding in an orderly manner.

"I'm not sure," Marie Therese Whispered back. "But I know it's bad." She fell quiet as a new voice rose above the hubbub. "Attention," called Agent Fields. "Give me your attention, please. A break in to our facilities has occurred. Individual interviews will be conducted. You will wait here until you are called. You will be told what to do. Anything spoken of in the interview room is classified and is not to be shared with your peers. Are we clear?"

OOC: Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban!
There was a general murmur of consensus from the group with a few Yes Ma'ams and one rather loud "YesSir"

OOC: Exactly. I just finished that book and it was EPIC!!!! IC: "Now please make your selves comfortable in here. Please note that you will not be permitted to leave this room until given the all clear. Anyone caught trying to leave will be considered suspicious and hostile. Now, our first interview will be with Appleton, Gina. Come with me," Agent Fields instructed as an olive skinned girl with dark hair stood up.

About ten minutes later, the girl returned. When everyone asked her what had happened, however, she refused to share. Throughout the afternoon people were called in alphabetical order. Finally, sometime in the afternoon, the name Miller, Marie Therese was called and she followed the agent out of the room. She was taken down several hallways she didn't recognize. Finally they reached their destination. Marie Therese was in a room that obviously looked the offspring of casual and interrogation. it was painted white with standard carpeting on the floor. There were two wooden chairs facing a wooden table. There was a light bulb in a plastic frame over head that carried only a weak light into the room. Marie Therese sat in one of the chairs. There was a man sitting in the other. He was tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He could have been handsome, Marie Therese thought, if he didn't look so worn and old. She faced him. "So, what do you want to know?" "You're Marie Therese Miller?" "I am. What's going on?" "My name is Agent Michaels. I'm afraid I can't tell you everything. But last night there was a break in in the interrogation rooms-" Marie Therese gave an involuntary shudder that she hoped Michaels wouldn't pick up on. He continued, choosing to ignore her if he noticed. "One of our err... sources escaped." Marie Therese felt her hands go clammy and cold. "What was his name?" "I'm sorry, but I'm not at liberty to tell you that information. However, did you see or hear any-" "What was his name?" she repeated. A cold feeling ran up her spine. Was it who she thought it could be? Had he been here? Had he escaped. "I can't tell you." "Was it James Black?" Michaels drew back in surprise. "James Black? What are you talking about? How much do you know?" "I know- knew Black." Michael's peered at her for a second and consulted his noted. "It says here that you.. have a certain questionable past." "Yes," Marie Therese repeated tersely. Where was he going? What did it have to do with this? and along those thoughts were Black is back again? He was in this building? He got out? How? "Why don't you tell me about it?" "I'm sure your files have briefed you." "Yes, but I would like to hear it in your own words." "I've given a statement in the briefing." Michaels decided to switch tacks. "Have you been in contact with any Shadow Keepers or know acquaintances?" Marie Therese was taken aback. "In contact? No, not since I've come here, as you know very well." "Did you know where Black was kept while in interrogation?" "What?" Marie Therese was vehement. "Are you suggesting that I-" "I'm not suggesting anything, Ms. Miller. However, it's interesting that you would jump to such a conclusion. "Listen hear, Agent. I'm as loyal as any agent hear, junior, senior or otherwise. I've got a successful track record and no misdemeanors. and any association I've had with the Shadow Keepers was in my past, and I would appreciate if you would keep it there." Michaels nodded. "All right, that will be all. But if there's anything you would like to share, please tell me immediately. Do you understand?" Marie Therese nodded. She understood perfectly: even now, they didn't trust her. An agent escorted her back to the girl's dorms where Kat was waiting eagerly.
